Last week we enjoyed our very first family vacation. We drove to Nova Scotia and explored the city of Halifax. We had wonderful food, saw the sights, played in playgrounds and always made it back to the hotel for take out dinner, a dip in the pool, and bedtime (movietime for Josh & I). Happily, our itinerary was excellent with the girls. We were all able to enjoy ourselves. According to Evelyn our favourite parts were: Evelyn: The submarine (a playground on the waterfront near our hotel), Mommy: Peggy's Cove & the big rocks (this was also Daddy's favourite part according to him) Nathalie: Halifax, Daddy: Going Home.

| The submarine playground by the ocean. We explored a bit and then brought fish & chips back to the hotel and got a good night's sleep (though the girls were up around 5am the next morning) |
| We played here every day (on the last day we visited the Maritime Museum, Josh wanted to stay longer than the girls' attention spans, so the 3 of us ladies hung out here one more time) |

| Day 2, after a lovely long walk to Good Food Emporium for a delicious breakfast we spent some time at yet another playground (are you sensing a theme yet?) |
| At the Discovery Centre. Evelyn selected all healthy grocery items from the shelves and waited patiently in line to checkout. A class trip was there at the same time and it was neat to see the kids all pick roles, and the cashier was kind enough to serve Evey along with her classmates. |

| Nathalie's favourite part of the Discovery Centre: the sandbox (she also thoroughly enjoyed the beach the following day) |
| Evelyn, Josh & I built the bridge; she trusted that it would be safe enough to walk on |

| Evelyn had been upset (read: tired) on the drive to Peggy's Cove, but once there she explained " I was sad but then the rocks made me so happy" |
| Off into the wilderness |
| When Grandma & Grandad were visiting we watched a VeggieTales movie that had Rock Monsters (with a theme song to the tune of Rock Lobster) in it and Evelyn thought some of these rocks might get up. The one behind us in this photo was a particularly good candidate so we decided to walk on his head. |

| Evelyn loving running from the waves |
| Nathalie coming to test the water (Josh wouldn't go in either) |
| One of the best dinners we had (takeout from The Wooden Monkey) I had scallop pasta that was amazing. The girls liked being able to watch some shows and relax. Another night we had pizza & artisanal cheesecake. |
It only rained on our drive home, we made a detour to the Hopewell Rocks anyways. The Sell's visit New Brunswick |
| 30 seconds after this photo was taken, she fell into the mud (other kids were doing so on purpose, Evelyn wasn't so impressed) |

| Some more posing |
| It would have been neat to see this fill with water (at high tide the water rises 14m) |

| Happy to have enjoyed our last sight before a long evening & night of driving home. |
